Columbus Blue Jackets

The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed former NHL forward Mikhail Grigorenko to a one year $1.2 million for the 2020-21 season... or so they thought. After the news broke out the NHL swooped in and rejected the deal. The reason they did this was because free agents cannot be signed for the 2020-21 season until July 1st. The Blue Jackets understood these terms and put out a statement saying that they will sign Grigorenko to his contract on July 1st. Grigorenko has spent his past three seasons in the KHL after putting up poor numbers in the NHL with the Buffalo Sabres and Colorado Avalanche. He has played for CSKA Moskva, throughout the stretch, and has put up 41 points in 47 games this season for the team.
Montreal Canadiens

The Montreal Canadiens have signed undrafted goaltender Vasili Demchenko to a one year contract worth just under $800 thousand. The 26 year old Demchenko has spent his past seven seasons in the KHL and most recently spent this past season playing for both Traktor Chelyabinsk and Metallurg Magnitogorsk. In 22 games for Traktor, he came up with a 2.79 goals against average and a .908 save percentage. With Metallurg he recorded a 2.71 goals against average and a .906 save percentage in 14 games.
